The Recreation Team is a not-for-profit, voluntary program.  It is our understanding that socialization is and should be a high priority in all of our lives.  It is an important part of healthy development and should continue through adult life.  Transitioning out of the school system can be a stressful, lonely and scary time for any young adult.  During this time it is vital to maintain social contact with peers. 

Our goal is to bring your son or daughter recreational activities that provide social, educational and cultural enrichment.  We feel that there is no reason why developmentally disabled teens and young adults can not participate in the same kinds of activities as their non-disabled peers.  Our efforts include building everlasting friendships, promoting self-awareness, self-confidence and independence and enhancing social skills.
